Marvin Gaye Chetwynd Performance at Nottingham Contemporary

DSC_0522 DSC_0526 DSC_0534 DSC_0531 DSC_0543 DSC_0512I am enjoying being a performer in Marvin Gaye Chetwynds Brain Bug performance at Nottingham Contemporary. Physical theatre is a very important aspect of my work, I am not a dancer, instead my work my work  concentrates on how gesture and physicality can convey meaning.
Marvin Gaye Chetwynd’s training for the performance  incorporated a movement and puppetry workshop, the artist works in a very exciting way to support the strengths and interests of her collaborators -her work has a party, celebratory feel.

This work followed an endurance workshop I attended with the talented Martin O’Brien at The University of Lincoln. These experiences have helped me to develop the way I approach movement in my own work -and have helped me to think about how to extend my practice.
